I was surprised by two things when watching it here from zmovies: 1) that a recognizable actor (Oscar winner) and with very good acting skills would star in a film without a major film company backing it, 2) the quality of the video was phenomenal. When I saw a recent trailer both on YouTube and IMDB, I was sure that this was another version of "Real Steel" (Hugh Jackman) with a different twist was going to happen. Growing up in the days when G-Force, Grandizer, Spaceketeers, was my first exposure to Japanese animation - I grew up loving futuristic robots and huge monsters fighting against each other. The film does kind of drag in the first 30 minutes and hard to identify where they intend on going with this. After watching the entire film, I still realized that the storyline was really all over the place and had several different types of messages behind it, including one of which pointed out how Jason Sudeikis' character had issues stemming from his childhood and how he hated himself. Ann Hathaway along with Jason both provided great acting. I'm a little confused how they would call this a comedy as well. If you are a huge Japanese animation fan and also liked Godzilla...this film wouldn't be for you. I wouldn't know what type of film classification this would fall under because it definitely would be classified under multiple types - certainly would not call it a comedy though. They could have really made this into something better with the storyline and the acting but it was a really really different film and really had me lost. Overall film: 5/10 Video quality: 10/10 Audio: 10/10

The cinematography of this movie was nice to look at, although many times, it's was too dark to see anything. That took away from the story. It took me 3 times to finish watching this. And by the end, I was still bored. So, this was a fail for me.

I have to admit, because of the slow-burn of the pace in the first half of the movie, I came close to stopping it. But after reading all the good reviews, I decided to stick with it. And I'm glad I did. Yes, it IS slow at first but stay with it, you won't regret it. The only problem I had was with the ending. It was too easy for me. I expected something different. See Belen go further with her wrath. Beside that, a nice little gem to watch. Hollywood should take notice.

This looked like a cheaply-made movie, with bad CGI and bad acting too. The storyline was way too far-stretched to be credible. In all, a big waste of time.
| || I Got Leg Cramps Just Watching This...||Mine (2016) "M" Movies |
After reading the description of this movie and learning it to be of a person, a soldier in fact, that is put to the test of a more or less, life and death survival situation, it sparked my interest. The movie jumps right into it pronto, with an assassination attempt in which appears to be some good action headed your way. But as the story progresses it slowly turns down the volume a bit and gradually flows into what i thought was more drama, less thriller, as it continued to play out this way with many dramatic flashback scene's and expressing a psychological side and an ever so physically diminishing appearance of the lead character. I also thought it dragged out too long in these area's and easily could have been trimmed down some with the viewing audience still getting the gist of what the director was trying to accomplish in the way of past relationships of the lead characters family. The upside was the acting. I found the entire cast portrayed their characters exceptionally well, likable and true to their roles. Overall this movie had it's moments, but it did indeed have it's slower dramatic moments too.
